Bruce Campbell as in...star of The Evil Dead movies. Guy whom you have probably seen in many movies before (such as both Spider-Man movies) and yet you just don't know his name. Ultimate B-movie actor. I got to see him. For those of you who know who the guy is, you can find out more here: arjcandyman.blogspot.com/2005/08/hail-to-king.htmlFor those of you who don't know who Bruce Campbell is, go see The Evil Dead and The Evil Dead II right now. Or just go watch the Spider-Man movies and look for: a) the announcer at the wrestling match in the first one (as in, the guy responsible for naming him Spider-Man) b) the usher in Spider-Man 2 who won't let Peter into the theater (as in, the only character to ever defeat Spider-Man) That's Bruce.

Heh, yeah, but probably only to those who have never seen The Evil Dead. That was his breakout role (and the one he will probably always be remembered for...I'm guessing he has a problem being called Ash in real life). Most of the people I know who have seen The Evil Dead at least know his name and who he is. The guy is probably the most well-known B-movie actor of all time. In terms of "people who mainly have small supporting roles in tons of movies", it's hard to find anyone more popular than him. Any fans of the old Hercules and Xena tv shows will probably recognize him as well. When I was at the signing, I heard some people talking about why Bruce Campbell will probably never be a "grade-A" actor, with the kind of celebrity status as people like Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt. They basically concluded that it isn't because of his acting ability - Bruce is actually a pretty decent actor (particularly when it comes to comedic stuff), and much better at his craft than a lot of more famous people. In the end, he'll probably never get a whole ton of attention because: a) he's too down-to-earth b) it looks as though he has his ego in check c) he doesn't like Hollywood's big-budget, multi-million-dollar pieces of crap, so he'll probably never be in one, and therefore the studios will never try and market him as a huge actor However, I'm guessing that's okay and that Bruce is okay with that. After all, he does have a huge fanbase, and probably always will. He's going to be working on Bubba Hotep 2, which will become as much of a "cult classic" as the first one did - it won't make tons of money, but most of the people who have the privilege of seeing it won't be disappointed and will support it. Kinda like Donnie Darko. Also, the director of Evil Dead went on to direct other big-budget Hollywood movies (eg. Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2) and Bruce will most likely find jobs having cameos in movies like those. I've also heard rumors that he's going to be starring in a movie with a plot that basically revolves around a town that's being assaulted by the undead, so the people get Bruce Campbell to protect them, thinking he's Ash from The Evil Dead movies. Sounds interesting; something tells me he can probably relate to that. You can find pictures of Bruce in all of his movie and television roles on his website. Here's a link to his 2004 achievements, which I link to because a lot of the movies he did last year are known by lots of people: www.bruce-campbell.com/filmography/2004.htm.
