How many of you have seen some or all of these movies?
I saw all three of them recently. The first one was pretty good, the second one was FANTASTIC, and the third one was so-so.
For those of you don't know, The Evil Dead was a low-budget movie made by Sam Raimi (director of Spider-Man) back in the early 80s. It became a cult classic, and eventually two sequels were made. It basically follows a group of people who go stay in an old cabin for the weekend, and end up unleashing evil spirits of the undead.
It's a cheesy plot, and the creators knew it. Although in the first one, many scenes are actually pretty suspenseful, the movies are mainly comedies. They thrive on exaggerated blood effects and hilarious situations. It's dark humor, but hilarious stuff. Bruce Campbell is awesome, particularly in the second and third ones - I can see why some people want them to make a "Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash" movie. Ash is really cool.
These are just good, fun movies. If you've seen them: what did you think? If you haven't: go rent them now!
